The tour begins with a 30-45 minute visit stop at Batu Caves, one of the most popular Hindu Shrines outside of India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. Spend your time climbing its 272-steps, walking through the main cave, where you can enjoy sculptures of deities and murals depicting scenes of the Hindu Scriptures, and watching the many monkeys living in and around the caves. After which you will proceed on the journey to Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island, via the North South Highway, driving past the Titiwangsa mountain ranges, limestone hills and through the Malaysian rainforest.
At midday, lunch of local cuisine will be served either on the island or in Marina Village. Upon arrival at Marina Village Jetty, you will take a 15 minute boat ride to the island, where you can walk along the caged walkway through the conservatory and observe the orang utans living and playing in their natural habitat. If you are lucky, you may be able to watch the orang utan feeding. After the tour on the island, you will take the boat back to Marina Village Jetty and begin your journey back to the city.
