Cameron Highlands & Mossy Forest 3 Day 2 Night Adventure

A nice escape from the scorching sun in the city, Cameron Highlands is a picturesque highland district reknown for its hostorical colonial architecture, picturesque tea plantations and breathtaking flower gardens.

The tour begins with a 30-45 minute visit stop at Batu Caves, one of the most popular Hindu Shrines outside of India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. Spend your time climbing its 272-steps, walking through the main cave, where you can enjoy sculptures of deities and murals depicting scenes of the Hindu Scriptures, and watching the many monkeys living in and around the caves.

You then continue on the journey up to Cameron Highlands, during which you will drive past rubber and palm plantations, a tropical fruit orchard, aboriginal villages and much more. If weather and time allows, you may be able to stop by and learn about the plantations, the people who work there and how much these industries contribute to the Malaysian economy.

The first Cameron Highlands town you will pass through is Ringlet Town, located at the base of the mountain. From there, you will continue on the 60km long winding roads up to the rest of the highlands. At midday, you will arrive at Tanah Rata town, about halfway up the mountain, where you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you then begin sightseeing which includes visits to a tea plantation, tea factory, rose garden, butterfly park, strawberry farm, farmers markets and much more. In the evening, you will check in at the resort and then have free time for the rest of the day.

Start the day with breakfast served at the resort.

After breakfast, you will proceed to the starting point of the hike where you will meet your nature guide. Hike through the ancient highland rainforest where if you are lucky, you may be able to spot some rarely seen wildlife and even the rafflesia flower. At midday, you will enjoy lunch of local cuisine and after, you will continue with the hike in the mossy forest. Once the hike ends, you will be given time to clean yourselves off and change into clean clothes. You will then return to the resort and have free time for the rest of the day. Take note that sometimes the hike will be shared with a small group of other travellers too.

After breakfast, you will check out and begin the journey back to Kuala Lumpur. Enroute, if not visited on the first day, expect stops at Lata Iskandar Waterfall, a bamboo basket making factory and Kellie's castle. At midday, lunch of local cuisine will be served at an old mining town.
