Malaysian Adventure
Looking for an adventure in a different part of the world is not always easy. Having Michael as our guide gave us the opportunity not only to do White Water Rafting, Canyoning & Cave Exploration, but we also got a real sense of Malaysia as a culture.

Caver with a participant at one of many crawl passages at Tempurung Cave "more photos"

participants being briefed on cave formations, how they are formed and so forth............... "more photos"

In 1985, Steve Knutson (editor of American Caving Accidents) made the following distinction:

"...Note that I ( Steve Knutson ) use the term 'spelunker' to denote someone untrained and unknowledgeable in current exploration techniques, and 'caver' for those who are."

What is Caving Anyway?
Caving or spelunking as non-cavers call it, is many things. The reasons why people go include adventure, sport, scientific study, companionship, fun, and other things as varied as the individual cavers. It is one of the few sports in which you can go places no one has ever been before.

The most commonly asked question is probably "What do you find down there?" The answers are as varied as the caves themselves: mud; beautiful rock formations and rubble; water and dust; vast rooms and tight crawlways; awesome rivers and puddles; strange and fragile animals; deep pits and waterfalls; cold and warm water; and, of course, strange people. One finds, eventually, whatever one is looking for.

Caving!
With no previous experience required, caving is suitable for just about anyone. Many people wonder if they'll become claustrophobic in a cave. This is very unlikely. People who are claustrophobic wouldn't even entertain the idea of caving, let alone think about giving it a go. There are some tight places you have to wriggle through but they are generally very short and not unlike crawling under a bed. It is quite a physical activity but lots of fun and a truly unique experience.

Why do Caving with Us?
We're a bunch of Cavers who take caving very seriously. we're the people who run your Caving Activities professionally, who show you around and know Caves better than anyone. In other words, Professional Cavers from MMadventure.com who have more than 15 years of caving experience and can show you a good time and educate and enlighten you about caves at the same time.
